Purple Ribbon Warrior 5k

This is a story about one of the most courageous people you would have ever met. In the year 2005, Mary Dunbar-Daluisio was diagnosed with Carcinoid Tumors and fought this disease for 11 years. During this courageous battle it was never about her. She stood firm with her belief that everything happens for a reason and that with her diagnosis, the doctors at Roswell Park could learn more about the cause, treatment & the finding of a cure in her lifetime. 

Mary chose to help other survivors during her own fight by taking part in the Relay For Life, an American Cancer Society fundraiser that supports the fight against ALL cancers by funding research, education, advocacy and patient service programs right here in Buffalo. Purple is the color of Relay For Life, the ribbon is a symbol of hope and support, and a warrior is any one fighting for a cure…. A Purple Ribbon Warrior is somebody looking to put an end to ALL cancers. 

Please join us on Sunday April 22, 2018 for the inaugural Purple Ribbon Warrior 5K. For years, Mary was a ray of sunshine to so many with her positive outlook. It is now our time to remember & honor Mary, along with all survivors, by helping in any way that we can do to fight back against cancer through Relay For Life of Grand Island & the ACS– the group Mary worked so hard with to find a cure.
Please  join us in the fight for a cure and run/walk this race for the survivor in your life.

The race will start and finish in front of Say Cheese Pizza Company using USATF Certified Course #NY18005JJ.

REGISTRATION & PACKET PICKUP
Online registration will remain open right up until the start of the race. Race day registration and packet pickup will take place inside the restaurant from 8:30 am right up until the start of the race at 10:00 am. All participants who register by 4/10/18 will be guaranteed to receive a long sleeve cotton shirt along with one of our great swag bags. Additional shirts (if any) will be distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis.

5K Registration Fee
  • $25 through 4/15/18
  • $30 4/15 through race day
Food & Drinks Only (Non Running Participants)
  • $15 through race day
Early Packet Pickup Option
There will be an early packet pickup option on Saturday night from 6-8pm at Say Cheese Pizza Co where you will have the opportunity to survey the many gift baskets and raffle items that will be offered on race day!

Mail-in Registration Option
If you prefer to mail in your registration, please download both the race waiver and appropriate USATF liability waiver below and mail to the address shown. You must complete and mail BOTH waivers to event organizers to the address shown on the waiver along with your check.

POST RACE CELEBRATION
Join us after the race for a post race celebration including delicious pizza provided by our host, beer, desserts, music, raffles, door prizes, and the awards ceremony!

AGE GROUPS & AWARDS
Trophies will be awarded to the 1st place overall male and female finisher along with the first place male and female in the masters division (40+). Medals will be presented to the top 3 male and female 5K runners in each of the following age groups: 

14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 and older.

TIMING & FINISH LINE SERVICES
Gun start/chip finish timing services using industry leading Jaguar Electronic RFID timing will be provided by Race Management Solutions. Results are updated throughout the race in real time and can be accessed at any time after crossing the finish line using any one of the following options:
